Courage, Resilience and Giving Back: Why Tom’s Trust Means So Much to PE

At PE, our commitment to people and purpose extends far beyond business. I recently sat down with Steve Daniels, our Group Chief Sales Officer and co-founder, to talk about something deeply important to us all, the charities we support and the values we champion.
One charity particularly close to our hearts is Tom’s Trust, which supports children who are living with the trauma of a brain tumour. Their focus on the psychological and emotional recovery of young patients and their families is nothing short of extraordinary.
As Steve puts it:
“These kids are incredibly strong. When you hear their stories – and those of their families – you can’t help but be inspired. Courage, determination, resilience… those are values we talk about in business and sport, but these children live them every day.”
Listening to Steve describe their journey was a powerful reminder of what true strength looks like. It put into perspective how much we can all learn from the grit and grace these young people show. As someone who’s recently come back from a serious rugby injury, I know recovery takes mental strength – but the challenges these children face are on another level entirely.
That’s why Tom’s Trust matters. Not only does the charity provide life-changing support to children and their families, but it also reminds us of the importance of empathy, community, and resilience – qualities that underpin everything we aim to stand for at PE.
Supporting causes like Tom’s Trust isn’t a marketing decision. It’s a reflection of who we are – a company that believes in backing people and building a future where everyone has the support they need to thrive.
